Description: An Ancient Wisdom is drawing millions of people into mystical experiences and preparing the world for the end of the age ... find out how. Most people believe the New Age has been long gone from our society, and if practiced at all now it is only by unconventional fringe types. For Many Shall Come in My Name reveals this is not the case. In fact, quite the opposite has occurred. The New Age movement (a term not normally used by its proponents) has permeated virtually all aspects of our society. This Ancient Wisdom spirituality can be quite readily encountered in the following fields: Business, Education, Health, Self-Help, Religion, and Arts & Entertainment. This book examines them all.

Details: For Many Shall Come in My Name by Ray Yungen. Thank God for this book.
In these days when so many nonbiblical ideas come into the Church and interpret the Bible contrary to Scripture, and ideas and practices are dressed up as " it must be the Holy Spirit talking to us/teaching us", we need the gift of discerning between spirits and we must test everything. We must remember The Lord Jesus' warning that in the last days very clever spritual deception would come trying to deceive even the very elect.
Ray's Book looks in depth at many contemporary spiritual issues including Ancient Wisdom and the New Age, the kinds of meditation and spiritual prayer coming into the Church and how eastern religions are guiding christians away from the Bible and into new philosophies.
I heartily recommend this Book Brian Keatley |

Review Summary: Good Critical Analysis of New Age Mysticism |

Details: How many "false prophets" are there out there professing to give you the answer? To many! This author does a good job of helping unwravel the mystery and alure of the "new age" as it has influenced our society and exposing it for what it truly is. To often we are lured into believing unrealistic and irrational beliefs that can actually harm one psychologically than help them. How many times are we told not to think, analyze or examine by new age thought but to simply accept the "truth," Thank you for helping dispell myths, support fact and critical thinking in addition to supporting healthy religious thought. Thank you Ray Yungen. |

Review Summary: New (Old) Age Mysticism Exposed |
Date: 2008-01-14 |

Details: When his disciples asked Jesus, "Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming and the end of the world?" Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take head that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Did you know that many New (Old) Age believers are doing just that? They believe that Christhood is not something you come to at a point in the future when you are more evolved. Christhood is right now! I am the Christ of God. You are the Christ of God. These are extremely unscriptural and dangerous ideas that are permeating every area of society: religion, education, business, alternative healthcare, arts and media and self help.
The way to tap into this ancient wisdom that says we are all God, is the through the practice of centering prayer. Using a word, phrase or even centering on your breath you are to let go of all your thoughts or still or blank out your mind. Letting go of all your thoughts causes a shift in consciousness that allows you to get in touch with your higher self and tune into your divinity. Even though you aren't usually told this, such a process allows a demon to enter in. The demon can be given various titles such as your spirit guide. Even when given Christian titles this form of meditation is no different than Transendental Meditation. This type of meditation, which includes Yoga and Zen are borrowed from the Hindu and Buddahist faiths. The traditions which make up this eastern wave include Hinduism (India), Zen Buddhism (Japan),Tantric Bududdhism (Tibet), Sufism (Islam), and Kabbalah (Judaism). Now through various popular Christian teachers who promote meditation, such as Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Richard Foster, Tony Compollo and others to numerous to list them all here it has stormed it way into the church.
When Yahweh (the Father's name in Hebrew) invites us to come and reason with Him (Isaiah 1:18), he isn't asking us to let go of all thoughts, but rather prayerfully consider what the Scriptures are saying. According to the Webster's Dictionary to reason means "to examine through debate or discussion." In such discussion you are actively thinking, not letting go of all thoughts.
To avoid being deceived by Old Age mysticism you need to arm yourself with the facts. This book does an excellent job of presenting those facts. Remember Old Age Spirituality began with Nimod at the tower of Babel. It's not ancient wisdom, but rather ancient deception from Satan. |

Review Summary: Watch out for the new age |
Date: 2007-12-27 |

Details: This is an in-depth investigation into the new age teachings and movement that has invaded all aspects of American life from health care to our schools and businesses. From the 1960's that generation has been the catalyst for the current surge of the so called spiritual transformation that is now permeating our society.
Ray Yungen points out these false beliefs and the dangers of the new age teachings. He shows that when metaphysics is presented as a science, it possible for a person to not be aware of its spiritual influence.
Many new age teachers find by calling these occult activities "growth techniques" they are able to deceive people. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi did this with his Transcendental Meditation program emphsizing "the Science of Creative Intelligence" rather than mantra yoga which is what it really is. This is a very enlightening book. I give it an excellent rating. |
