Review Summary: Beginning Primer on The Book of Daniel Date: 2007-04-11

Details: Jack Van Impe has written a verse by verse interpretation of the book of Daniel that in my opinion is a good introduction to the times that Daniel lived and the message(s) of the book. It's not meant for deep theological or historical thought; rather, it is written for the layperson, like myself, who wants an introduction to an Old Testament prophetic book and needs help understanding the basics. If one views Van Impe's book in this manner, it is an excellent starting point for understanding Daniel.

As one studies the bible, it is clear that there are many authors disecting each book, many commentaries on each book (some contradicting the next), and many differing opinions on what the Bible is teaching. I believe Van Impe's take on Daniel is a good one. He exlains the visions of Daniel in an easy to understand manner. There is enough historical information mixed in to provide a backdrop unto which the entire book can be interpreted.

Van Impe is not writing this book for deep-thnking theological seminaries; no, he writes for the general public, and he writes to sell books, as this is his souce of income. I believe he has made this book quite interesting and readable. He explains the visions of Daniel and their significance for our times. I recommend the book as a starting point for further study.

Review Summary: Unscholarly End-times Drivel from a Self-proclaimed Prophet Date: 2006-03-13

Details: "But, now, finally, the hour has come to unseal the final end-time mysteries of the Book of Daniel" (p. x). Yes, indeed, Van Impe has single-handedly, he and he alone among the world's Biblical scholars and theologians, gotten the correct, inspired vision from the Holy Spirit on the end times, the exclusive story, the infallible last word on the subject. Actually, though Impe claims to have been granted "honorary" doctorate degrees from "fourteen leading seminaries" (conspicuously unnamed by the way), Impe shows himself anything but a scholar or critical thinker. This book is a simple rehash of the standard hyper-dispensationalist, pre-Tribulational party line with a splash of arrogance and spattering of too-cute phrases all mixed together by a tediously patronizing writing style. There is nothing new or original in this book, other than possibly the new heights of mindless millennial prophecy-cliches parading shamelessly as Biblical theology with which Van Impe graces every page. Don't waste your time with Impe's self-indulgent drivel -- read the Bible instead, which, unlike Van Impe, is inspired, and interesting.

Review Summary: Understanding the Book Daniel Date: 2004-10-01

Details: Dr. Van Impe opens up the Book of Daniel in an easy to read fashion. An excelent Bible study of a difficult book of the bible. I highly reccomend this book.
For another excellent bible study written by Dr. Van Impe, I also reccomend Revelation Revealed.

Review Summary: Reveals hidden information on book of Daniel(in Bible) Date: 2001-07-28

Details: Jack Van Impe is a great teacher of biblical end-time events. In this book he shows how the book of Daniel of the Holy Scriptures, compliments the book of Revelation. This gives us a better picture of end time events before Jesus's return to earth.

The other major theme in this book is that these truths ,revealed by Jack, were hidden by GOD(sealed) until the last days(days before Jesus returns to earth to rule it). Van Impe points out that because the book of Daniel has been unsealed by GOD, we are living in the last days(endtimes). Therefore, Jesus could return very, very soon!

This book explains the book of Daniel in the Bible ,very well, on many levels(literal, prophetic, and symbolic);of the life of Daniel and his relationship with the LORD;what the LORD told him to seal up, including the vision of King "Nebbecenezzar"(sp?),the firey furnace and the three hebrew children, and much more on Daniel's life until old age. Also included explaination of 70 weeks (a prophecy), in regards to the JEWISH people's history; before the appearance of King JESUS.

A must read for all Christians looking for the return of their LORD, JESUS!
