Description: Women have "fallen" in love with Jesus and learned to "live" in love with Him, now it's time to study the depths of that love. Based on the Gospel of John, this study explores the seven descriptions of Jesus as: - The Word
- The Bridegroom
- The Bread of Life
- The Lion of Judah
- The Resurrection and the Life
- The Vine
- The Redeemer
The workbook presents additional insights and more in-depth material along with ten structured lessons and questions for both personal and group study. A video curriculum will follow in 2005. This is the third and final installment in the Falling in Love with Jesus Trilogy. Beth Moore says, "God is using Dee and Kathy in a revival happening in the hearts of countless women. He is stirring the flame of fiery love through His Word-their Falling in Love with Jesus Trilogy has the rare blend of sacred romance and earthly relevance."

Description: Professor Trible focuses on four variations upon the theme of terror in the Bible. By combining the discipline of literary criticism with the hermeneutics of feminism, she reinterprets the tragic stories of four women in ancient Israel: Hagar, Tamar, an unnamed concubine, and the daughter of Jephthah. In highlighting the silence, absence, and oppostition of God, as well as human cruelty, Trible shows how these neglected stories-interpreted in memoriam-challenge both the misogyny of Scripture and its use in church, synagogue, and academy.

Description: Paul's letters stand at the center of the dispute over women, the church, and the home, with each side championing passages from the Apostle. Now, in a challenging new attempt to wrestle with these thorny texts, Craig Keener delves as deeply into the world of Paul and the apostles as anyone thus far. Acknowledging that we must take the biblical text seriously, and recognizing that Paul's letters arose in a specific time and place for a specific purpose, Keener mines the historical, lexical, cultural, and exegetical details behind Paul's words about women in the home and ministry to give us one of the most insightful expositions of the key Pauline passages in years. "This book can be of great help to any person seriously interested in examining why Paul said some of the things he did about women in marriage and women in ministry." —Alvera Mickelsen, Board Member, Christians for Biblical Equality "For those comfortable with traditional Pauline 'arguments' concerning the subordination of women in the church and home, Keener presents more than they ever wanted to know about Paul's intended meaning. But for those struggling to understand Paul's full purpose for women, in his time and ours, Paul, Women, and Wives will prove to be 'must' reading. Keener's comprehensive bibliography and literature review are alone worth the price of the book." —Robert K. Johnston, Provost and Dean, North Park Seminary

Description: By Design is not about answering feminist arguments or exegeting biblical passages on traditional roles, submission, or headship. Instead, it is an uplifting and practical introduction to God's wonderful design for women. It is also a challenge to women everywhere to explore the significance of your distinctives and return to your biblical calling. And it is a plea for the church to equip and mobilize you to help a hurting world and capture a culture for Christ through ministries of mercy and compassion

Description: In conversation with the Bible and Sue Monk Kidd's best-selling novel The Secret Life of Bees (Penguin Books, 2003), Unveiling the Secret Life of Bees explores the embodiments of women, feminine power, relationships, and the importance of women in the life of the church. It looks at the roles of women in the Bible and how those roles are defined or redefined in The Secret Life of Bees, expanding our concepts of the "Divine mother," earthly mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, and the "queen bee." Along the way, we encounter remembrance, forgiveness, reconciliation, liberation, community, rituals, the feminine face of God, and the important role women play in one another's lives.

Description: This challenging work explores the history of the Christian doctrine of atonement, exposing the intrinsically violent dimensions of the traditional, Anselmian satisfaction atonement view and offering instead a new, thoroughly nonviolent paradigm for understanding atonement based on narrative Christus Victor. The book develops a two-part argument. J. Denny Weaver first develops narrative Christus Victor as a comprehensive, nonviolent atonement motif. The other side of the discussion exposes the assumptions and the accommodation of violence in traditional atonement motifs. The first chapter lays out narrative Christus Victor as nonviolent atonement that reflects the entire biblical story, though paying particular attention to Revelation, the Gospels, and Paul. This biblical discussion also touches on the Old Testament story, Hebrew sacrifices, and the book of Hebrews. Following chapters place narrative Christus Victor in conversation with defenders of Anselm and with representatives of black, feminist, and womanist theologies. These discussions expose an accumulation of dimensions of violence in the several forms of satisfaction atonement. A final substantive chapter analyzes the inadequacy of all attempts to defend Anselm against the recent challenges raised by feminist and womanist perspectives. This analysis lays bare the violent dimensions of satisfaction atonement, which can be camouflaged but not removed. In light of this discussion, Weaver argues that the view of satisfaction atonement must be abandoned and replaced with narrative Christus Victor as the only thoroughly biblical and thoroughly nonviolent alternative. A provocative study that cuts to the very heart of Christian thought, The Nonviolent Atonement will be of interest to scholars, students, and pastors.

Description: The forgiven life. The grace-filled life. It begins with an embrace. Wherever you are spiritually, whatever you have been through emotionally, you are already enfolded in the arms of One who believes in you, supports you, treasures you. He is waiting for you to embrace him in return. To accept the gift he's offering you. To listen for the whispered words you've longed a lifetime to hear: You are loved. All is forgiven.

Description: Susan Hunt and Ligon Duncan walk through the Scriptures to help readers better understand what it means to have an effective, biblical women’s ministry in the church. The benefits of women’s ministries are great: training and discipling, evangelizing, and reaching out to the poor and needy. This book, written by seasoned ministry leaders, provides many proven tools to help start a women’s ministry in your church. “What sets this book apart is not only the authors’ careful thought but their compelling personal examples. The result is a deeply biblical yet intensely practical guide that will greatly benefit not only women, but pastors as well.” —C. J. Mahaney, Sovereign Grace Ministries “In this day and age, we need more courageous visionaries who seek to release women in ministry while honoring the complementarian framework of God’s Word. This is a helpful resource for all who wish to join in this pursuit.” —Mary A. Kassian, Distinguished Professor of Women’s Studies, Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville “Women’s Ministry is a biblically rich reflection of the authors’ very thesis—when men and women humbly and joyfully complement each other’s God-given roles and gifts, spiritual grace flows for the nurture of His Church.” —Peter Lillback, Senior Pastor, Proclamation Presbyterian Church; president, Westminster Theological Seminary “Finally, Ligon Duncan and Susan Hunt have given the church a clear theological framework from which to build an effective women’s ministry.” —Randy Stinson, Executive Director, Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

Description: "Striving to be a true woman of God? This book is a valuable guide." --Elisabeth Elliot "This book goes to the center of all that it means to be a godly woman. Every American woman should have the opportunity to read it." --D. James Kennedy Have you sensed God's call to change your world? Do you believe you can be one of those women who, by her virtue, wisdom, dignity, and faith, makes an impact in her home and community? Maybe you've heard the call but weren't sure how to maximize the opportunities God has given you. Maybe society's definition of "true womanhood"--claiming it's about reproductive rights, doing things "your way," assuming the power, and gaining control of your life--has clouded your view of who you are in Christ. Or maybe you've just been waiting for a little encouragement and inspiration. In any case, author Susan Hunt says, "Start now." And let this book be your encourager and companion. Through it you will hear how other Christian women are reflecting Christ despite difficult and sometimes tragic circumstances--and how you can reflect Him too. You'll explore what the Bible has to say about your mission and your identity as a true woman of God. You'll learn how to broaden your sphere of influence in the everyday. And you'll discover how to further develop a biblically shaped and Spirit-driven character that people are drawn to. Begin today not only to draw closer to God, but also to deepen your impact in all you do. This exhortation to biblical womanhood will set your heart on fire and excite you about the unique opportunity you have as a woman of God. An opportunity to make an impact again and again for eternity.
