Description: Everyone desires God's very best for his or her life. From relationships to careers, we long to make the right choices. But in a world of ever-expanding options, making a singular choice can seem overwhelming. And although many people offer tips and techniques for making quality decisions, is there a better way to pursue a life well lived? Popular author Jerusha Clark believes that God has given us a guide for every issue we encounter: discernment. With a unique voice and heart that beats for women in the church, Jerusha encourages readers to forgo formulas, embrace their freedom to choose, and apply wisdom to every aspect of life. The result? A life that's free of fear and full of potential--which truly is God's very best.

Description: In this first collection of her essays and short writings, Judith Plaskow, one of the founders of feminist theology and the founder of Jewish feminist theology, documents her personal and scholarly evolution. From her early days as a graduate student at Yale to her present work on sexual ethics, the essays in this volume trace Plaskow's work in feminist theology, Jewish feminist theology, and sexuality. Covering all of her major essays, including "The Coming of Lilith" and her pioneering work on anti-Judaism in Christian feminism, this book also includes several previously unpublished essays. Intelligently arranged and edited with the help of Donna Berman, this collection is indispensable for religious studies students, fans of Plaskow's work, and those pursuing a Jewish education.

Description: Woman to Woman takes the outline given in Titus 2:3–5 and searches Scripture to find specific direction and content for a guide to discipleship for women. The purpose of the book is to provide a resource for women who desire to minister to others. It is designed to encourage and equip women to speak truth to those who are younger; breaking through barriers in order to deal with difficult questions women face in the 21st century. Rather than offering another set of answers from one woman's perspective, this study takes each woman to passages of Scripture, helping her discover what God is saying to her personally, without skirting the deeper issues. Although the study is ideal for group discussions, it can easily be adapted to individual study use or one-on-one mentoring. The first four chapters look at the four qualifications for women in ministry: a priestly lifestyle, a commitment to confidentiality, freedom from addictions and an appreciation for beauty and the ability to teach it. Younger women may take this study to learn what they are to seek in an older woman mentor and be better prepared to minister to others. Each of the remaining chapters takes one of the topics Paul identifies as important for women and seeks to develop a biblical foundation for understanding and training.

Description: A Feminist Ethic of Risk proposes a new model for ethics and new life orientation for social justice. It directly addresses American and European "middle-class despair" over issues and challenges seemingly too large to tackle, such as environmental destruction or racism. Her ethic uproots classical assumptions and opens up the possibility of a strong religious vision or "theology of resistance and hope." This new edition includes a new chapter that situates the feminist ethic of risk in relation to other styles and options in religious ethics today.

Description: A perfect blend of unadulterated authenticity and gut-wrenching humor, Scandalous Grace helps women understand what divine grace really means and how it can impact their lives. Julie Ann Barnhill boldly confronts the issues women face--including body image and their interactions with "other" women--with biblical accuracy and charming wit. With passion, she introduces women to the liberating and tantalizing realities of unconditional grace and gives them tangible examples of how to live in the light of such extravagant love.
