Description: When does an affair begin? Not with the first forbidden touch…but with the first forbidden thought. Unexpectedly, you find yourself enjoying a powerful emotional bond with another man. You feel like you matter to someone again. And the door you thought was locked so firmly–the door to sexual infidelity–is suddenly ajar.
The only way women can survive the intense struggle for sexual integrity is by guarding not just your body, but your mind and heart as well. Every Woman’s Battle can help you learn to do that. Using real-life stories and examples from her own struggle, Shannon Ethridge helps women like you–whether married, engaged, or planning to marry someday.

Details: I read this book just before my first wedding anniversary, and I seriously applied it to my life. The results are amazing!! I have an intimacy with my husband that I never thought I could have, a better image of myself as a result of it, and the chapter on sabbaticals is awesome!! I go up to Door County WI twice a year now and just enjoy alone time with God. This book is very helpful in making you feel that you're not alone out there, that God does provide an answer to every problem, and that He will never give you more than what you can handle. |

Details: When I browsed through this book, I knew right away that I would easily relate to it. And the more I read, the more I could not put it down. Shannon Etheridge delivers a very straight forward, loving message about bringing our lives under full submission to God's will and desire. Having been caught up in my own struggle, I didn't think anybody else was dealing with the same things I was dealing with. But to read the personal stories that Shannon puts in her book really helped me to stop "beating myself up" and realize that I'm not the only one, and there is a way out. The biggest point that stands out to me is that sexual compromise begins in your mind and/or your heart before it manifests anywhere else in your life.
I highly recommend the workbook, just to be able to put your thoughts out there on paper, rather than just bottled up in your mind. If you don't have anybody else to do the workbook with, do it alone. I am doing it that way. I want all I can get to be whole and become the woman I know God designed me to be, and I'm not going to let anything hinder me from that. Regardless of what you have done or what you have been through, God still wants to use you to bring glory to Him. In fact, he tends to pick out those with a "past", and uses them mightily to bring forth testimony of how good He is. I am looking forward to the WHOLE woman that I am on a journey to becoming, and I am thankful for this book, which changed my life, and started the ball rolling for me.
P.S. I am a single, never-been-married 26-year old woman. This book is for us, too!

Details: Finally, there is a brave Christian woman out there that will talk about this subject! It's about time women get real about their sexual struggles and stop looking for love in all the wrong places. I found this book to be insightful, captivating, and full of practical application. It's thrust is towards personal wholeness and fulfillment... with or without a man! Great stuff!!! Have fun reading about her personal journey told with refreshing honesty. |

Details: I haven't finished the book yet, but it is an awesome book! Ethridge recognizes the fact that women also struggle with sexual integrity, and brings into the open many of the secrets that women world-wide have been ashamed to be accountable for. I appreciate her down-to-earth manner, and she gives many helpful ideas and Biblical counsel on how to overcome sexual temptation. Read the book, if you are struggling, if you know someone who is struggling, or even just for your own furthered knowledge. I highly recommend it! |

Details: I didn't want to read this book. Even halfway through I thought this was good info, but not for me to apply right now in my life. I just didn't want to. By the time I got to the end I was deeply thankful and ready to pursue the intimate relationship God wants to have with me above my self-indulgent thought life. I love how she writes - it's so down to earth, uncondemning, and convicting. I'm so bless to have "chanced" upon this read. `Wish more women new about it - we need to address our own purity battle. God really is praised through this book - the Maker of romance, love and true intimacy. |
