Description: The Triple Goddess is with every one of us each day of our lives. In our inner journeys toward spiritual evolution, each woman and man goes through the stages of Maiden (infant to puberty), Mother (adult and parent), and Crone (aging elder). Maiden, Mother, Crone is a guide to the myths and interpretations of the Great Goddess archetype and her three faces-so that we may better understand and gracefully accept the cycle of birth and death. • New cover • New price • New subtitle

Details: I love this book. This is the first book I ever read dealing with any kind of Paganism. That was eleven years ago. I still refer to it, and would recommend it to anyone interested in exploring the Goddess. The meditations and rituals are beautiful. The myths and legends are well presented and as detailed as one can expect from such a short book on such a broad topic. It's true that it deals only with the Goddess, rather than Paganism in general. What would someone expect from the title alone? Personally, I think it's an excellent book and a wonderful addition to any collection. |

Review Summary: This book is terrible. |

Details: There should be a no-stars option.
I've read the book, but unfortunately don't have a copy to reference and provide page numbers...but all you need to do is look at this list of sources cited, which is available here...Robert Graves, Barabara Walker (I hear her books on knitting are excellent, though...)
The main example I remember offhand is one that you find perpetuated 3/4 of the neopagans on the planet, but Hekate is NOT a crone goddess. anyone who's read a shred of Greek mythology (And I don't mean Bulfinch)can tell you that.
Unfortinately, Graves's Maiden/Mother/Crone triumvirate has been latched onto and imposed upon all sorts of goddesses that don't really fit...Hekate associate with the dark moon and underworld?? Oh, she's just GOTTA be a crone. Brigid's a triple goddess? Nevermind that in this case, "triple" refers to three similarly-aged figures of the same name, or three functions of the same goddess, she simply MUST be Maiden, Mother AND Crone (I'm not saying that Conway has said that about Brigid, I don't remember, but this is a big problem with the MMC construct about which she writes, but she definitely asserts that Hekate is a crone, which flies in the face of everything known about Hellenic religion and mythology.) |

Review Summary: Good Start but more basic |

Details: There is alot of useful information, but it's mostly on the aspects of the Goddess. This is less of an "eploring deeper" book and more of a primer for actual worship. Great start for beginners though. |

Review Summary: Fun to read, but take with a grain of salt. |

Details: This book is quite informative in addressing many different Goddess stories and legends from many different cultures in a brief, fun-to-read format but the historical information the author provides seems rather vague and incomplete. It proves to be an entertaining indulgence, nonetheless. However, if you want to address the worship of the Goddess in a more practical and educational manner, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There is some good advice here for beginners and those who wish to use the book as a quick-reference guide or as a possible overview, but I wouldn't use this book for any in-depth studies of the craft. Also, the repetitive spelling errors can become quite annoying.
