Description: Finding Hope and Healing Through Life's Hard Times

"Hey, God, this isn’t the life I signed up for! I specifically remember signing up for great parents, a great marriage, and great kids who rise up and call me blessed. I signed up for lifelong friendships, thin thighs, and vibrant health. Instead, I find myself in the middle of the life I DIDN’T sign up for. What’s going on here?"

No one signs up for the challenges of life, but in the real world, heartache is inevitable. We all want to live happily ever after. As Donna tells stories from her own life, you’ll recognize your life, your struggles and broken dreams. She examines issues common to all women, including:

Disappointing relationships
Foolish choices
Less than perfect families
The search for love
The desire to make your life count

If you’re ready to discover a new approach to life—an approach that promises hope and healing—then This Isn’t the Life I Signed Up For is for you. As Donna says, "If God can breathe new life into my weary heart and soul…there’s hope for everyone!"

Review Summary: Life Changing Book Date: 2008-11-02

Details: I heard Donna do a seminar a couple years before I bought this book. It gives you a new perspective on life and how to cope with the things that happen in your life and not to just sit back and complain about them. It's a life changing book!!!

Review Summary: the most hope-filled book I've read! Date: 2008-10-19

Details: This was the first of several books by Donna Partow that I've had the pleasure of studying. Her direct, no-nonsense, at times humorous, in others introspective, but always down-to-earth, NEVER "preachy" if you will, is like a stream of refreshing water, particularly for women that are feeling 'vulnerable' in their faith because of their past, or present, experiences and situations that they feel they haven't particularly 'signed up' for - I know I am definitely one of those women. Donna's message is truly one of hope and healing!!

Review Summary: This isn't the Life I signed up for Date: 2008-10-13

Details: If you have EVERY wondered why there are days that you just can't figure out what is going on in your life (and who hasn't) this book is for you! Donna has a way of making you see from her example as well as others that sometimes you may not understand but there is a plan in the works and God is in control. I recommend this book extremely highly, it is witty, smart and its like talking over a subject with a dear friend, because sometimes thats all it take to make things make sense.

Review Summary: An awesome read Date: 2008-10-13

Details: I have read this book over several times in the last few years and bought numerous copies for friends and families. Donna's approach is very real and honest. We all have rough times in our lives and we all make mistakes. It's okay to be human. This book uplifted me during a very dark period in my life after my divorce. Her strength to survive her own dark periods were comforting and spiritually uplifting.

Review Summary: A Book to Discuss with Friends Date: 2003-06-05

Details: Donna Partow is a best selling author and a popular guest on radio and TV shows including Focus on the Family. Most of us would agree with Donna Partow that we did not sign up for many of the things which life brings us in the course of the years. The book is written in an informal conversational style which tempts the reader to respond to what the author is saying. The first five chapters begin "I Didn't Sign Up For . . . " and the last "I Signed Up For . . ." As the author deals with her own set of experiences, it is easy to accept the suggestions that slip out which may help the reader in her own life. This is a book any woman can understand and one she can discuss with her friends. The author points out that God often takes the things for which you did not sign up and uses them for his own glory.
