Description: The term "Zionism" was first coined in the late nineteenth century, and referred to the movement for the return of the Jewish people to an assured and secure homeland in Palestine. Ironically, this vision was largely nurtured and shaped by Christians long before it received widespread Jewish support. The origins of "Christian Zionism" lie within nineteenth-century British premillennial sectarianism, but by the early twentieth century it had become a predominantly American dispensational movement, and pervasive within all main evangelical denominations. The contemporary Christian Zionism movement emerged after the "Six Day War" in Israel in 1967, and it has had a significant influence on attitudes towards the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Middle East. Evangelicals are increasingly polarized over whether Christian Zionism is biblical and orthodox or unbiblical and cultic. In this book Stephen Sizer provides a thorough examination of the historical development, variant forms, theological emphases and political implications of Christian Zionism. His excellent and informative survey is interwoven with critical assessment that repudiates both nationalistic Zionism and anti-Semitism. Features & Benefits * Addresses the debate over Christian Zionism * Traces historical development of the idea * Describes theological emphases and variations * Highlights political implications * Repudiates both nationalistic Zionism and anti-Semitism

Description: Many evangelical readers who have learned the basics of eschatology from popular authors and more recently from novelists assume that dispensational premillennialism, with its distinctive teachings about the pretribulation rapture of the church, is the only reliable view of the end times and the return of Christ. This volume, however, offers a compelling case for an alternative perspective--one that was widely prevalent throughout church history. The contributors, all respected scholars in their respective fields, suggest that classic premillennialism offers believers a more coherent and viable approach to understanding eschatology. Their studies, which examine eschatology from biblical, theological, historical, and missiological approaches, provide a broadly accessible argument for returning to the perspectives of historic premillennial eschatology.

Description: Does America—the most powerful nation on Earth—appear in Bible prophecy? Some people believe the United States will be wiped out in a nuclear attack. Others say it’s where the Antichrist will rise. And many people wonder what life will be like in America during the seven–year Tribulation. But what can we know for sure? And what events are setting the stage for the last days, not only in America but globally? Terry James, who has spoken and written extensively on Bible prophecy, addresses these issues and more as he examines the pivotal role America will play: - The irreversible move toward one world government
- The rise in world spirituality yet hatred toward true Christianity
- The danger signs in America’s faltering economic system
- The new world superpower on the horizon
- The peace that will lead to the world’s greatest war
A fascinating survey of what is to come!

Description: Prophecy expert Mark Hitchcock deals with often-raised questions about America's future in this thoroughly researched, reader-friendly resource. Examining three prophetic passages that are commonly thought to describe America, Hitchcock concludes that the Bible is actually silent about the role of the United States in the End Times. He then discusses the implications of America's absence in prophetic writings. Along with Hitchcock's compelling forecast for the future, he offers specific actions Americans can take to keep their nation strong and blessed by God, as well as an appendix of additional questions and answers.

Description: As we inch closer and closer to the third millennium, the intensity of end-times predictions has reached a fever pitch. The magic phrase The Year 2000 has many looking for evidence of biblical prophecy and pointing their fingers at contemporary events, claiming that Christ is prepared to return for his church. Although the calendar has driven many writers and preachers to focus on the supposed unique nature of our age, speculation on the last days is far from a novel phenomenon. As Richard Kyle points out, this speculation has run rampant for nearly 2,000 years. Rather than simply focusing on specific time periods or movements, Kyle takes a comprehensive look at the history of thought about the end times, offering a fair treatment of various millennial positions by incorporating an intellectual/cultural approach. Kyle also takes a look at secular apocalyptic thought and end-of-the-world ideas espoused by fringe groups such as the Heavens Gate cult. Anyone curious about end-times speculation or interested in prophecy and history will find The Last Days Are Here Again an intriguing resource.

Description: Rick Joyner says, "We have tended to over-focus on the end of the age-the end times. But this is not just the end, it's the beginning of a new age when Christ will rule over the earth! For the church to reclaim the high ground of hope for the future, we must begin to proclaim the beginning, the coming of the kingdom." In A Prophetic Vision for the 21st Century, Joyner discusses why revival tarries for America, what it means to be delivered from the Mark of the Beast, the rise and fall of America, the greatest awakening, a famine in the land, and practical ways to serve in the latter days. It includes encouragement for weary church leaders as well as the second part of The Hordes of Hell are Marching, illustrating the unified church rising as an army in the most pivotal battle of all time between the light and darkness.
