Description: Someone you know is about to pass away. Will they enter delight? Or horror? Many people spend more time planning for a vacation than preparing for eternity. Perhaps it doesn't seem real that we will still exist--fully conscious and alive--beyond the grave. But it's true, and it calls for careful consideration. In this updated edition of One Minute After You Die, bestselling author Erwin Lutzer urges readers to study what the Bible says on this critical subject. Topics include:-Can near-death experiences teach us anything about life after death?-What does the Bible say about purgatory?-What will heaven be like?-Is it realistic to believe in hell?-How can we prepare for our own final moment? With 500,000 copies in print, this classic work makes an encouraging gift for believers and a tasteful word of caution for the undecided.
Details: I originally checked out this book from our local library and it was such an inspirational book that I ordered a number of them from Amazon and gave them to my family and friends for Christmas presents.
A fantastic reading for all Christians and those who are on the wishy washy side, not sure of their beliefs.
Review Summary: One Minute After You Die

Details: I couldn't even finish this book. It was written in a lecture style very dull reading. This book seemed more to be written to tell what not to hope for about after life and was biblically legalistic for me. I wouldn't recomend it to people looking for after death or near death inspirational books.
Review Summary: Disappointed in this book

Details: This book was recommended by Grief Share, which is a Biblically based group for people who have lost loved ones. The book was based on statements in the Bible. However, the author went beyond and added speculation of what Heaven would be like. To many people this might be permissable but I am a very literal person and do not like fiction or speculation interwined with fact. This is just my opinion and I am sure this book would bring comfort to some. I have refrained from reading the LEFT BEHIND series for the same reason and those have certainly been very popular with many. So how you feel about a book is based on personal perspectives.
Review Summary: A window on Eternity

Details: Yes, Erwin Lutzer gives here a book that will answer some of the most pressing questions people have about death, and what happens when you die from a biblical perspective. The first chapter handles the issue of reincarnation and people who try to contact the dead, and shows how these misled ideas may open people to demonic spirits posing as whoever they think they may be contacting. He takes the reader through a clear definition of what is Heaven, Hell, and Hades, and what the bible says about these places. He defines the Judgement for unbelievers and Judgment seat of Christ for believers. As in most of his books, his compassionate writing is well versed in Scripture. He touches briefly on suicide and other ethical issues. Eternity will be forever - get the facts now. A book that is meant to share with others.
