Description: The Fifth Gospel presents some compelling new evidence about the life of Jesus which has been derived from a variety of sources in the East which are unknown to most Western scholars. By chance, one of the authors found, in 1965, a reference in Ladakh to the discovery of Buddhist scrolls about Jesus. Since then, the authors have been examining evidence about the survival of Jesus Christ at the time of the crucifixion, and his subsequent travels to the East. The authors' main purpose in writing this book is to inform the West that "we in the East have some source material about the historical Jesus who lived on after the crucifixion.... This book was not written in one day, but is a result of many years' continued search for evidence," and provides research on some very compelling questions.

Review Summary: Historical Jesus Date: 2008-06-27

Details: Book based on Good Research work. Lot of cultural research in the early Jewish Migration in the Kashmir area. I was more content with the Edgar Cayce (ARE Press)
book the Story of Jesus and Many Lives of Master

Review Summary: The Fifth Gospel Date: 2008-03-02

Details: While this book, or any other book on the subject of Christ, is open to interpretation, it provides another perspective for the reader. The information in the book is not new or earth shattering, but when seen through the authors eyes, helped me form a better opinion for myself. As with all informational books and subjects the onus of weighing the 'facts' presented is on the reader. Combined with other publications from this genre this book paints a clearer, more consise picture of the man (God) and the era.
It's a worthwhile book to read.

Review Summary: A Fantastic Book! Date: 2008-02-05

Details: I was personally quite impressed with this book. It is a vast collection of information regarding the unknown life of Jesus before and after the crucifixion. Why is this information not accepted, in fact, hidden? I have no idea. However, it seems to me that this is some of the most vital and relevant information of the current age. It gives the perspective to give unity to the modern religions, Christian, Buddist, Hebrew and Islam.

Review Summary: He Who Lives in Kashmir Knows Kashmir Best Date: 2007-06-24

Details: It was after reading Professor Hassnain's book that I decided to go to Kashmir and see this "grave of Jesus" for myself. What began as a short excursion became almost a year in Kashmir and is now a lifetime passion. His evidence was so overwhelming and his reserach so thorough, that it draws one in. That is scholarship at its very finest.

I remained in Kashmir nearly a year. As I delved deeper and asked more questions, Professor Hassnain always made the time to help me, just as he had numerous other authors and researchers who came for the same reasons.
Each author, including myself, has acknowledged Professor Hassnain's contributions to their own research and books.

But the truth remains that without Professor Hassnain living in close proximity to the tomb, and having access to secret and unknown documents, the world would not have had much of this information in the first place.

This is a brave man, and a brilliant scholar. Now in his eighties, with white hair and a sparkle in his eye that never diminishes,he is a national treasure of Kashmir. We are blessed to have this book as a beacon for scholars past, present, and future.

This book is already a classic, referred to time and again.
I highly recommend it to anyone studying the history of Jews in Kashmir, and particularly the life of Jesus in India.
