Description: Comb-bound fiddle instruction book and CD. Fiddling is an honored American tradition. Learning to play the fiddle is an exciting experience filled with discovery, surprises, and personal satisfaction. This is a wonderful beginning fiddle lessons instruction book for any beginner who wants to learn how to play fiddle. It is also an engaging supplementary basic fiddle tunes book for early intermediate fiddlers and violinists. For beginners, the emphasis is on learning to play entire fiddle tunes as quickly as possible. This book is suitable for all ages. - Tablature for beginners and fiddlers who don't read music.
- Standard notation for fiddlers who can read music.
- Helpful guide to fundamentals, photos, and diagrams included for absolute beginners.
- A varied selection of traditional fiddle tunes.
- Chord symbols are included.
- Comb bound book opens flat for ease of use.
- Stereo CD includes tuning notes, demonstration of important techniques, guitar accompaniment, and EVERY SONG!
The introductory section discusses the parts of the fiddle and bow, how to hold the fiddle and bow, tuning, required equipment, how to read tablature, and everything needed to start playing tunes right away. This book is not a note-reading method. However, the songs do become progressively more challenging. It is not a dumbed-down book where every song is arranged at the first-week level. Beginners who wish to learn to read music while learning to play country fiddle are referred to Larry McCabe's excellent How to Play Fiddle method book. Early intermediate fiddlers will find some very nice arrangements here. Tunes - All Things Bright and Beautiful

Description: The partnership between composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and poet Lorenzo da Ponte is quite possibly the most inspired in all of musical history; somehow, their operas reach more deeply into the human soul than any before or since. Don Giovanni is one of the great ones: it is an exploration not only of lust and indulgence, but of obsession and class structure. This full orchestral score from Dover lays it all out in front of you. Be aware that, because it is an orchestral score, it won't be of much use to a rehearsal pianist and will probably be too bulky for everyday use by singers. You should also be aware that this is a reprint of an out-of-copyright score originally issued in 1941 by a German publisher, C. F. Peters of Leipzig. That means, among other things, that the alternate language is German. But if you've got an English translation (or if you don't need one), and want to examine Mozart's art closely, you may find this very useful.
