Description: The 1435 year old age group has often been called "The Fatherless Generation" due to the absence of fathers through broken relationships. In the UK, 1 in 6 fathers no longer live with their children and 8% of all birth certificates do not reveal the father's identity. The consequences have been devastating. Roughly 80% of teenagers who commit crime have grown up without fathers and carry the deepest scars of failure and rejectionthe absence of secure responsible commitment. Fatherlessness is not only devastating socially but also spiritually. Children and adults who experience abandonment and rejection, particularly by their fathers, experience a kind of "father hunger" which is accompanied by an intense fear of separation. Mark Stibbe demonstrates how he was healed from these feelings of rejection and abandonment and describes how we can all have a meaningful and eternal friendship with a perfect Dad.

Description: For years, Mitford’s Father Tim Kavanagh has transcribed into his dog-eared journals words of wisdom, faith, and encouragement. Written in his own hand or typed on his idiosyncratic Royal typewriter, A Continual Feast contains the lively ideas, common sense, profound wisdom, and plain good humor he has gleaned from the likes of C. S. Lewis, Emily Dickinson, William Blake, Helen Keller, G. K. Chesterton, and Will Rogers, to name just a few. Together with its successful companion volume, Patches of Godlight, Father Tim’s latest quote journal is sure proof of the truth of an entry from Lord Byron: “A small drop of ink produces that which makes thousands think.”
“The cheerful heart has a continual feast.” —Proverbs 15: 15 NIV

Description: The process of restructuring a parish--due to clergy shortage and changing demographic, among other things--from the traditional staffing model to a different staffing model, can be traumatic for many parishioners. Studies have been done that consider the opinions of diocesan planners and priests who have been involved in parish restructuring. But as of yet, no one has asked the opinions of parishioners. This book reports on the findings of a survey of parish pastoral council members in parishes that have undergone a restructuring. Through their responses to the survey items and in their thoughtful responses to an open-ended question, they provide us with insights as to those activities that they think are most important in easing the trauma of a parish restructuring. Over the next few years nearly every U.S. diocese will feel the need to restructure parishes. This book provides all those involved--diocesan planners, pastors, and the folks in the pew--with insights and specific recommendations as to how to most effectively carry out a parish restructuring.

Description: In the past twenty years, many traditionally white campus religious groups have become Asian American. Today there are more than fifty evangelical Christian groups at UC Berkeley and UCLA alone, and 80% of their members are Asian American. At Harvard, Asian Americans constitute 70% of the Harvard Radcliffe Christian Fellowship, while at Yale, Campus Crusade for Christ is now 90% Asian. Stanford's Intervarsity Christian Fellowship has become almost entirely Asian. There has been little research, or even acknowledgment, of this striking development. God's New Whiz Kids? focuses on second-generation Korean Americans, who make up the majority of Asian American evangelicals, and explores the factors that lead college-bound Korean American evangelicals—from integrated, mixed race neighborhoods—to create racially segregated religious communities on campus. Kim illuminates an emergent "made in the U.S.A." ethnicity to help explain this trend, and to shed light on a group that may be changing the face of American evangelicalism.

Description: Donald Capps asserts that the core activity for ministers should be giving hope. Capps provides a dynamic interpretation of hope by giving an account of how hope originates in the infant and by illustrating the three major threats against hope--despair, apathy, and shame.
