Details: When the obsolete aftermarket CD player in my van didn't want to let go of an old CD I decided to update to something that had an aux in. I've been using a cassette adapter in my 90s Taurus and like taking my Archos or using my Blackberry. I almost bought several decks as links took me to successively better units for $100. Finally I landed on this deck with aux in, USB, bluetooth ready and HD radio. Did someone actually complain you need a bluetooth adapter? Right. I can't find any deck with this feature set at three times the price and I love the remote. I got the bluetooth adapter and it works flawlessly. My only complaint is not being able to get the display on time with the AV mode on. The bluetooth adapter works great for stereo sound and sounds better than the built in system in a new Ford that has horrible echo from lousy noise cancellation... but then that system is designed my Microsoft so you expect it to be garbage. Dual got it right with an incredibly cheap atermarket add on.
I like this deck so much I am buying another with the bluetooth adapter for my car. When you consider I can get web radio and XM radio on my Blackberry and this thing sounds great in HD, MP3, USB and everything else I am in total luxury. Oh, one other minor thing is you do have to pair with it again when you switch drivers. Get this and don't look back. The price is dropping and it remains without compare. |

Review Summary: AWESOME RADIO |

Details: This is a really awesome radio. Loaded with features well worth the money, and not to forget about the 50 dollar rebate. But it cost me about $130 total after installation and all the taxes after rebate.
This thing can play music with usb which is pretty hard to find in other head units. The HD radio works well, this is my first time using HD radio. Also it's bluetooth ready, but don't confuse that with bluetooth capable, it stil needs a bluetooth adaptor for that to work. You already know all the features so here are some things to note about this radio before purchasing though:
CONS:
1. Reception could be better, my stock radio could maintain a good reception in underground parking lots and parking structures, I get static with this one at times.
2. The interface is alittle weird, well a little crammed, when you try to tune to oter stations or skip to the next track you'll often adjust the volume dial while driving and hitting bumps on the road.
3. When tuning into hd stations it takes a few seconds to connect (but i'm pretty sure all HD radios do)
4. Wish it displays elasped time and track number at the same time (you have to view them separately, and manually)
That's about it. I'm very happy with it either way and the con's weren't enough for me to give it less than 5 stars. When I tell my friends "HEY I got a new headunit installed in my CAR!!" the first thing they ask is "really? what brand?", i tell them "Dual electronics!" and they're like... "whats that?!" ......... LOL
But i'm proud to have it installed, but just be prepared for that!
Hope this will help someone

Details: I was looking for a replacement for my OEM radio (which came with a cassette player) and am so glad I found this one. Sound is great, reception is terrific and the CD player is great. I never installed a radio before but this one was easy. I highly recommend this radio. |

Review Summary: Bad AM reception |

Details: Or should I say no AM reception? Another reviewer has the same problem. This XHD6425 AM reception is horrible. My factory radio can get clear regular AM. With the XHD6425, I can't even get one single AM channel, not to mention HD! To be fair, AM HD did work when I was in downtown, but when I am 30 miles from downtown, I get nothing. FM and FM HD works near or out of downtown. |
