Description: Protect yourself from prying radar and intrusive laser detection with the Cobra ESD-7000 radar detector. The six-band device monitors radar from the X, K, and Ka Superwide bands, while also using its 360-degree LaserEye to perceive laser signals from any direction. Should a radar or laser gun be pointed in your direction, the ESD-7000 will alert you immediately, letting you rest easy while cruising through speed traps. In addition, the ESD-7000 is immune to both VG2 and Spectre 1 technologies, making it invisible to officers scanning for radar detectors on the freeway--a common tactic in certain states. Meanwhile, drivers who want to avoid traffic snarls caused by accidents or roadwork will appreciate the Safety Alert function, which scans for emergency vehicles outfitted with Safety Alert transmitters. Additional features include an easy-to-read LED display with simple band identification, auto and manual muting, separate modes for driving in the city and on the highway, and instant-on detection for radar guns with "pulse" signals. Details: I've read lots of comments on the web about radar/laser detectors, and many people tell you anything under $300-$400 is a waste of time, I have to disagree! I didn't have $300-$400 kicking around at the time, so I went down to Target and bought this one. I've now taken it on several trips around the US through many states, seen 100's of Cops and every time they're doing a radar trap, this lets me know straight away, and has never once let me down.
It does pick up automatic doors pretty easily, I switch it off going through cities or put it in silent mode, not a safe place I would chose for high speed driving anyway.
The only one thing I dont like, interstate bridges often have emergency service's equipment attached that triggers the radar detector, which you soon get used to as a false warning when approaching bridges. But even still for $50, this has been a great purchase and I've never got a ticket on my long drives using it. :D

Details: If you want to find automatic doors and automatic doors only, please buy this product. I got my radar detector today and decided to give it a test tonight, and well besides finding every store with doors I didn't have to touch, it found itself right on my list of worthless plastic. I took it through some country towns and some interstate and when I saw some speed traps, i didn't even get a blip on the machine. Then, on my return trip, I set my cruise to about 13 over to get myself home, watching the detector and praying for one little flash or beep, but magically the highy patrol lights filled the background of my car, and the radar DETECTOR did not even DETECT the RADAR when it was parked 10 FEET behind me. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your money. |

Details: This product worked very well for our trip. Warned us of upcoming road work and radar in progress. The only concern was that it got extremely hot on the dash of the car. Other than that it was a great buy. |

Details: This is my first radar, and after all bands that this unit can detect, I say many times save several tickets. Usually I take the highway and unfortunately the limit is 60. Should be 70 or 75, so I go faster to save time. Anyways, this radar detect cops far away, so it gives me time to slow down and no problems so far. On city, the same thing, on constructions roads, it beeps alert half block away. And when cops are in the city it beeps too, not all the times because most cops don't use their radar guns when they are driving.
Good price for a good radar detector, and I love the VG-2 technology built in it.
