Review Summary: This is good for intermediate level

Details: Accent America Essentials focus on accent and Intonation rather than pronunciation part.I recommend this material for who has finished pronunciation course.
I think Accent America Essentials"s volume is not too much like some of accent training course materials. After you finished this your listening really improve. But for speaking like a native speaker is long way to go.You will improve your accent with this material but you need to continue your training until people stop finding your foreign accent.
Review Summary: A critically important and strongly recommended addition

Details: The most common language problem encountered by non-native speakers when using English is their heavily accented pronunciation of the words. Now with "Accent America! Essentials" non-native speakers can benefit from the exercises on the five audio CDs and the explanations in the accompanying 136-page Guide Book. Non-native speakers will lean why people may misunderstand what they say and what to do to correct their mispronunciations; how to speak English with the proper rhythm and timing, which syllables to stress, and which syllables to shorten; how to avoid speaking too quickly by measuring how fast they speak; how to link words together like native English speakers; and how they can become confident in their adopted language as they improve their pronunciation skills. "Accent America! Essentials" is a critically important and strongly recommended addition to personal, school, and community library ESL (England as a Second Language) instructional resource collection.
