From the supplier: Office automation has dramatically altered the workplace ecosystem and has given rise to a new wave of threats to employee health and productivity. One of these threats is repetitive stress injuries caused by psychological and physical stress which, in turn, often results from the inability of the mind and body to meet the demands of the job. These include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, thoracic outlet syndrome and ulnar neuritis. Another threat is illnesses related to radiation emanating from video display terminals, such electromagnetic fields, extremely low frequency emissions and very low frequency emissions. Research has indicated that magnetic fields from high-tension power lines may lead to increased cancer risk. A third health threat is vision impairments from the use of CRTs, including eye strain, discomfort, itching, irritation and aching. Some measures for improving the workplace environment are suggested.
