Details: This is basically a Kelly Blue Book on steroids for those looking to purchase, or already own and want detailed info about, the Porsche 911. If you're just a casual "fun" reader this might not be the right book for you. 5 Stars for what it's intended to be though.

Review Summary: Just What I Was Looking For
Date: 2007-06-28
Details: No colored pictures, just b&w, but good technical data that is easy to follow for those of us in the market for a used 911.
Review Summary: A good reference for looking up your VIN.
Date: 2007-01-26
Details: Also provides a nice summary for each type of the 911 family. Unfortunately, the black and white pictures don't do the Porsches enough justice, so don't buy this book as a photo album.
Review Summary: A fine quick reference for the next time you're surfing the used 911 listings

Details: The Red Book is logically organized by model year series, and within each series Paternie highlights the changes year-over-year. VIN numbers can be easily bracketed into the various production runs, and engine/drivetrain specs, suspension, wheel, and braking setups, interior trim/color combinations, and various special edition anomalies are all well presented. My own 911 search is currently ongoing, but the Red Book has helped me very quickly narrow down my choice range and verify new offerings as I encounter them.
