Review Summary: Exellent device Date: 2009-01-02

Details: I picked this unit up for less than advertised on amazon.com a few hours ago. Like some reviews stated, one doesn't necessarily need the Nike+ shoes, but considering I need a new pair of running shoes, I might as well grab a pair from my local Nike store. The unit works well with iPod Nano and iPod touch. I thought at first that it wasn't compatible with touch, but not only does it work with my touch(32GbSecGen), it doesn't need the receiver. I tucked the sensor into the laces of my shoe and walked around the block. My wife has the 4thGen Nano and it worked well also. Considering I got it for only [...] bucks, I think it was worth the find.

Review Summary: If you are a visual person you need this! Date: 2008-12-28

Details: I am a very visual person and can't wait to log onto the computer to see my progress. I really enjoy the community challenges. It is an extra boost to compete against others. If you want something that will get you excited about walking or running I recommend this!

Review Summary: Just Doesn't Do It Date: 2008-12-24

Details: I think it really, really sucks. It doesn't calibrate properly, as calibration makes it even more inaccurate. Requires you go through menus to stop calibration(hard to do while crossing the finish line). Sometimes drops your workouts from the history. Never displays my best times for various lengths other than 5k and 1 mile; Never awards my trophies; shows I'm running much slower than I am, shows I walk much faster than I am; and the worst of all is the graphs at the nikeplus website have NOTHING to do with the run I just did. The graph is totally meaningless, a crazy green line. This is only good for counting your runs, and getting a very rough ballpark estimate of distance while recording the date.

For my best mile time, it shows a time I have never achieved in my life, so I don't have a good estimate to work from. That's it. The rest is completely unreliable. Not ready for prime time. I'm definitely going back to New Balance shoes.

All you can hope for is the error in walking speed is offset by the error in your running speed, giving you a rough estimate of your workout. Totally worthless. Nike should know better than put out a silly product like this.

Review Summary: Another Great Apple Product Date: 2008-11-23

Details: Very nice, works well. You can buy things to make it work with non- Nike+ shoes.
Just doesn't go very well with airport security. Take it out or be prepared to explain what it is. No big deal.

Review Summary: Love this product!!! Date: 2008-11-23

Details: I just got the sport kit recently, and even though I've only used it a couple of times so far, I'm thrilled with how well it works. I had first gotten a 3rd gen ipod in September (I didn't like the new 4g, so found a 3rd on clearancy), then found out about the sport kit. I went ahead and got the Nike + shoes, and I'm so glad I did! I have back problems that usually make walking any distance painful and impossible. But with these shoes, my feet and my back don't hurt any more. Even my family has noticed the difference and commented on it. For me the shoes have been well worth the price. Then I added the sport kit. Even though I'm only walking fairly short distances, it's still great to be able to go back and track my progress. Very motivating. I'm sort of dreading running into the battery issue I've been reading about, but so far I'm thrilled with this product!
